Gail Perry, who is an extremely successful fundraising consultant inspired me to write about this topic today. Gail has a way to make any topic she writes about fun and interesting… even planned giving!

Planned giving is something that our Fund Development department is learning more about, and as we do, we realize the amount of time and resources required to be successful with it.

So, what is planned giving? Planned giving includes estate giving and any monthly gifts or legacy gifts that are donated to your organization.

If you’re lucky, YOU have someone working on planned giving year round because it is definitely a full-time job. Our department is taking small steps to start focusing on this important revenue stream.

How can YOU find time for planned giving with all of the events and campaigns YOU are running? Gail Perry offers some great tips on how to get started and easy things YOU can start doing to see a return on investment.

YOU can read Gail Perry’s blog post here.

See, don’t Gail’s tips make sense? What is your planned giving strategy? Leave a comment and let us know.
