YOU, Giving Us Something to Celebrate

Members of the Police Association of Nova Scotia (PANS) present their donation to Chris Wilson, Vice President of the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.

Our favourite day of the year is just around the corner. I’m not talking about Halloween, I’m talking about a very special day when Canadians take time to celebrate philanthropy.

November 15 is National Philanthropy Day and across Canada we will celebrate the many contributions that philanthropists have made to our country.

At the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia, we have dedicated this year to celebrating philanthropy. Our philanthropic community is made up of those who donate money to our cause and also donate their time through many volunteer hours.

This week we are very grateful to profile and celebrate the Police Association of Nova Scotia (PANS). Each year, PANS publishes crime prevention guides for the community and this year their focus is on elder abuse.  PANS goal is to educate the public and promote their role in the identification and prevention of abuse and neglect of our seniors.

PANS gives back to their communities through donations to various local charities. Thank you for choosing the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia and helping us to provide Help for Today…Hope for Tomorrow.
