YOU the Event Planner

Are YOU a social butterfly? Are YOU the life of the party? Are YOU constantly looking for new adventures to conquer? If you’re always pulling together plans for your best friend’s birthday party, or scheduling every last meticulous detail for your upcoming vacation, YOU are an event planner.

When planning your next soiree, why not hold it in honour of your favourite charitable organization?

There are endless opportunities to make your charitable event an evening to remember. If YOU like to lay low, how about holding one of your famous hockey play-off parties where the gang huddles around the TV with some tasty snacks. YOU can ask everyone for a donation at the door and it still saves your guests from a pricey night out at a local eatery.

If YOU are more of a suave soul, then consider putting together a silent auction. Ask local businesses if they would be willing to donate products or gift cards in support of your charity of choice. Most are eager to help just remember to ask them ahead of time.

Not your type of event? Check out more ideas with 101 Ways to Fundraise.

Whatever event YOU decide to hold will end up being a success in helping your community. When choosing the Alzheimer’s Society to give your funds raised YOU are helping provide support for the 15,000 Nova Scotians currently living with dementia. There are many programs and services offered from the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia including a new exercise pilot program called Living Well with Dementia.

It is YOU, the event planner that keeps the cost of fundraising at the Society low so that more money can go towards programs such as this one.

For more information on the pilot program please call 902-422-7961 and ask for Programs and Services.
