YOU the new Club Council Executive, FUNDRAISER

In Uncategorized on January 31, 2012 at 7:14 pm

It’s almost election time! And no, we don’t mean it’s time for everyone to return to the polling station – it’s time for those thinking of running for council in their Service Club – to begin thinking about their “platforms”.

Does your Service Club ask it’s Executive to pick a charity of choice (or two?) Does your President get to pick the organization where the proceeds from your Club’s annual event, is donated too?

If YOU are thinking of running for a position in your service club and there is a charitable aspect to your role, here are some suggested steps:

  1. Ask members to submit what charities they would like the organization to partner with. You might find that more than a few will submit the same charity!
  2. Narrow down the charities to the top three or four
  3. Invite representatives from those charities to come do a presentation to your club about them and where donations go. They should be authentic and transparent about what they do with your raised funds

Once your club picks a charity, make sure both sides understand the partnership. Who does/supplies what, what does the reporting look like, etc.

Good luck as you wind down your 2011/12 year and start planning for 2012/13!
