YOU the Office Holiday Party Fundraiser

In Uncategorized on November 14, 2011 at 8:15 pm

The chill in the November air is a refreshing reminder that office holiday work parties are right around the corner. Social committees will be drawing up plans, sorting the best locations and hoping to send off the 2011 business year on a high note!

A great way to celebrate a year of success, while toasting towards a wonderful holiday season, is by incorporating philanthropy into your end of the year soiree! From donating employee time to a local charity, to adding a donation on top of ticket prices, your office holiday party could bring cheer to your favorite charity.

In the spirit of the season – and National Philanthropy Day (November 15!) here is some ways to help via office holiday parties:

  • Take time leading up to the holidays to volunteer as a group at a local charity (we suggest gingerbread house making at a long-term care facility)
  • Hold a casual “ugly Christmas sweater” day and collect donations for your cause (why not hold this on a Monday instead of the usual Friday!)
  • If the office is holding a dinner/dance, increase the ticket price to make a corporate donation (contact the charity first and you could possibly incorporate favours – like Forget-me-Not seeds from the Alzheimer Society!) at every place setting

Thinking about holiday giving? Contact the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia today to learn more ways that YOU and your office, could be Holliday fundraisers!
