Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia

YOU the Birthday fundraiser

We assume, that when little boys turn nine years old, their birthday wish list is pages long. From video games, to bikes; remote control cars to sports jersey’s, birthdays are a time to ask for it all. And on his ninth birthday Mitchell Comeau did ask for what he wanted: a way to remember his grandmother and to fight the disease that took her away from him.

The invitation that went out to his friends for his pool party asked that instead of gifts, a donation be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia, in memory of his great Nanny (Mary). Mitchell’s deservedly proud mother Michelle, said about her son, “This was a true testament of his character. His Nanny Hardiman was a very special person to Mitchell and to the rest of our family and he certainly has the same kind and generous spirit that she had.  We are so proud of him!”

As are we. Thank you Mitchell for choosing the Alzheimer Society and for letting us celebrate your ninth birthday!

Asking your friends and family members to support the Alzheimer Society in lieu of birthday gifts is a fabulous way to celebrate!
